Power Food Industries Limited is an Agro-processing and agriculture commodify supply company dealing with processing of less developed cereal flours meant for breakfast and stuff porridges such as finger millet, sorghum, soybean, cassava, sweet potatoes and it also process maize flour. The company is also a supplier of agriculture and non agriculture commodity such as maize, beans, salt, oil, vegetables, fruits, honey, sugar etc. By blending different flours with protein, vitamin and minerals, the company had made available into the shops various value added soy blend flour and related products such as CSB, LISHE PLUS,LISHE TAYARI,MCHELE MIX,SOYA BLEND,INSTANT PORRIDGE,SOYA MILK,SOYA DRINK. Power Food Business was originally registered under the name of ANNA MILLERS in 1993 as a sole proprietorship. In 1996 the Business name was changed into Power Foods. In year 2000 the Business was incorporated into a limited liability company under the name of Power Foods Industries Ltd. The core and main purpose for which the business was established is food processing. Initially the business undertook maize flour milling and distribution only. In late 1996, after realizing the nutrition problems prevalent in the Tanzanian society and especially among the poor section; Power Foods decided to engage fully in the processing and production of soy blended nutrition flour. The targeted group for the products included: Children Lactative mothers, Sick and old people, Refugees, School Children, The General Public, HIV/AIDS affected group. Power Food Industries Limited is located at Kawe, along old Bagamoyo Road, (opposite Tanganyika Packers Factory), Kinondoni District in Dar es salaam City, Tanzania. It is situated about 12 KMs from the city center and the location is easily accessible by road all around the year. Management
Mrs. Temu has a reputable long work experience and an excellent professional track record in Food Science and Technology. She has demonstrated highest levels of business management skills and worked in a multidisciplinary teams both in the public and private sectors. Apart from managing the business, she has been working with other consultants of the same field from TFNC, Sokoine University, and other agricultural institutes in Tanzania. She has attended several meetings, seminars, and business forums, that has sharpened her vision within and outside Tanzania. Member of the Food and Nutrition Association of Tanzania (FONATA, TCCIA and Others:) Financial Management in government (1991) UK. English and Swahil - Excellent The management have examined the potentials existing in the soy bean and legume value added products and the company had imported extraction technology by the use of an extruder cooker and now they are producing various instant cereal breakfast flour such as LISHE TAYARI CSB, LISHEPLUS, SOYA DRINK, SOYA MILK etc. The company is also doing fortification of ordinary flour by minerals and vitamins including sorghum, fingermillet, maize and cassava flour.
